The Weather May Have Been Overcast, But Minds Were Bright and Takeaways Were Clear from The June HR Management Institute in Carlsbad California
Nothing, not even “June Gloom”, could stop the warm, sunny, and vibrant atmosphere of the 2024 June HR Management Institute that took place last week at the gorgeous Park Hyatt Aviara in costal Carlsbad, CA.
The event kicked off with an incredible first day of presentations and break out discussions centered around themes of Skills Development, Innovation, and useful applications of Generative AI for the HR function. Attendees were then treated to a beautiful, seated dinner on the garden lawn, overlooking panoramic views of the lush and rolling hillside as jazz music played, and the clouds parted for an eye-catching evening sunset.
Day two offered a jam-packed schedule with a mix of thought leadership presentations, engaging panel discussions, and interactive think tanks that sparked conversations and new thinking around what employees really want and benefit offerings that fit each employee and their very specific mental, physical, and emotional needs. Attendees engaged in discussions about strategies for attracting and engaging top talent from all generations and tactics for creating top performing A Teams.
After an inspiring day of learning and conversations, the IPMI team pulled out all the stops and rolled out the red carpet, transporting HR Leaders to an exciting evening in Las Vegas! Attendees tried their luck, with some winning big at the casino tables, while enjoying an array of refreshing cocktails and tasty treats, including stone fired pizza made fresh from the outdoor pizza oven.
Day three focused on Leadership. Attendees engaged in critical discussions on Inclusive Leadership and embedding DEI into the workplace. Attendees then dove into small group roundtable discussions to celebrate some recent leadership wins and the Institute closed out with a robust panel discussion uncovered strategies and best practices for developing future leaders now.
