Tackling Challenges and Crowdsourcing Solutions Amidst Rolling Hills, Sunny Skies, and BBQ Cook Offs
In mid-March, healthcare HR executives gathered at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX for the biannual Healthcare HR Management Institute. From burros to beef brisket, to the bubbling banter, the event hit a chord with attending leaders in the “Live Music Capital of the World.”
Surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, attendees kicked off two and a half days of dynamic panel sessions, thought provoking presentations, interactive roundtable and think thank discussions, and informative business meetings.
Discussions throughout the event centered on moving the HR agenda forward and aligning HR priorities with strategic organizational goals to support and nurture a continually thriving workforce. Attendees were encouraged to be intentional about their time at the event, meeting the moment as they shared perspectives and experiences on strategic business priorities, critical challenges, and key opportunities for future success.
Several impactful sessions focused on the critical challenges and opportunities faced by hospital and health system people leaders, including:
After each jam-packed day of learning and discussion, attendees were treated to an abundance of incredible food, drinks, and engaging networking opportunities. On Sunday evening, the group headed to the Hill Country Pavillion, an exquisite building located right off the hotel lawn with towering ceilings and expansive windows opening to the outside for a lovely indoor/outdoor experience. Following dinner, participants found themselves head-to-head in a battle for the best Texan BBQ sauce hosted by the charismatic and energizing master of ceremonies, Phillip Chancellor from 5150 Productions. Even with a delayed start and SpaghettiOs being traded for ketchup, the red and yellow teams come out on top winning the judges votes for the top 2 sauces based on taste and presentation.
On Monday evening, attendees ascended upon the Rock House. Secluded in the Fazio Canyons Golf Course, the Rock House offered a serene and whimsical environment for a delicious Tex-Mex inspired meal. The evening also showcased live music, photo opportunities with beautiful beer serving burros adorned with flowers, and exciting new activities such as local bourbon and tequila tasting, and leather branding.
For attendees joining for the first time and returning attendees alike, the March 2025 Healthcare HR Management Institute offered a valuable experience of true southern hospitality. Our attendees, however, say it best:
“The team was "on the ball" all the time. The positive chemistry and teamwork were apparent.”
“Great speakers, think tank topics, and vendors options”
“This is my second year, and I find IPMI to be a high-quality conference!”
“One of the best parts is the quality of the speakers.”
“Friendly and organized event staff, good quality content; felt no pressure to meet with vendors, good food!”
“Excellent variety of leaders in the industry.”
We are so grateful to receive this feedback and are equally grateful to the Advisory Committee, Speaker Faculty, Service Providers, Attendees, and On-Site Team for their contributions. We look forward to seeing you at one of the next iterations of the Healthcare HR Management Institute.
