The weather was hot and sticky, and so were the topics and takeaways from the recent Healthcare HR Management Institute, where Healthcare HR Leaders from across the U.S. descended upon the beautiful Four Seasons Orlando Resort, from September 8th through 10th for the bi-annual Healthcare HR Management Institute.

The event kicked off with a very strong CHRO leadership panel, during which panelists shared concerns of labour shortages and escalating labor costs, as well as challenges of attracting, inspiring, and retaining a diverse employee base. Break out sessions for the day explored themes of employee engagement and health and wellness before wrapping up the day with a lively presentation on workforce innovation.

As the HR Leaders continued to make connections and learn from their peers, Day Two offered a great mix of thought leadership presentations, think tank discussions, break outs, and leadership roundtables. Topics centered on HR data and analytics, talent acquisition and retention for critical roles, employee benefit offerings, workforce planning, and cultural alignment and leadership. After a jam-packed day, attendees took in a fun-filled evening inclusive of mouth-watering food stations, a marvelous magician, live music, and a caricaturist.

Day 3 featured HR practitioner led panels discussing attracting, engaging, and retaining a multigenerational workforce and uncovering what employees really want, as well as development strategies for “Home Grown Talent” and how HR Leaders are developing future leaders within their organization. Attendees also benefitted from an eye-opening virtual presentation by the Chief Information Officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital on Generative Artificial Intelligence as a transformative force in healthcare, promising improved patient experience and outcomes, enhanced operational efficiency, and innovation opportunities.
