IPMI Kicks Off 2024 Event Roster with The EHS Management Institute at World-Renowned Golf Resort TPC Sawgrass.
…And we’re back!
The first program of the year always sets the tone for Institutes to come – with IPMI now hosting 20 events a year – and once again the EHS Management Institute has set a successful stage for what is to come in 2024.
Bringing together leading EHS&S executives from Fortune 1000-sized organizations for two-and-a-half days of information exchange and networking, the Institute not only acts as a learning and networking opportunity, but a wonderful reunion for our valued Partners that we see annually, and whose presence ensures our program is hosting the most cutting-edge solutions in the business as a key differentiator in the EHS space.
We also had the pleasure of hosting this year’s program at the beautiful Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort, a venue with a rich history closely tied to the renowned TPC Sawgress golf course. TPC Sawgrass became famous for hosting The Players Championship, often referred to as golf's "fifth major." The tournament, established in 1974, moved to TPC Sawgrass in 1982 and has been held there ever since, attracting the top players in the world. It was a privilege to be able to share this rich – and fun – history with our EHS attendees.
The draw of infamous golf culture aside, the program was a critical opportunity to form connections whilst delving into strategies for accelerating the impact of EHS teams to drive business value across the organization. The role of the EHS executive is constantly evolving, and the program addressed ways to adapt to changing macroeconomic and organizational forces.
The esteemed speaker faculty from global organizations such as American Axle & Manufacturing, Applied Materials, Ceridian, Benchmark Gensuite, PepsiCo and Williams-Sonoma – to name a few – highlighted strategic roadmaps created to ensure success within the EHS function as we look beyond 2024 and into the future of work and safety as we know it.
Opportunities to meet with innovations and solutions in the field complemented the thought leadership component as attendees drew insight from senior representatives from some innovative technologies and creative solutions moving the needle on actualizing and advancing EHS&S initiatives. Attendees were able to sit down for private, one-on-one discussions with these leaders for in-depth consultations, an exclusive and valuable piece of the annual program.
Breakout sessions such as Think Tanks and Roundtable discussions ensured executives had a safe space to deep dive into key challenges they were facing on an intimate level, exploring a variety of topics including Communication and Mentorship in EHS, Building a Useful Safety Management System, Safety and Health for Immigrant Workers, and Crisis Management and Business Continuity Frameworks.
Overall, the program sought to provide practical tools and takeaways for four key themes: developing a safety culture, the role of EHS in sustainability and ESG priorities, the role of technology and AI potential in EHS, and restructuring organizational welfare and safety operations within the widening scope of the EHS function.
The next EHS Management Institute will set the stage for the new year from January 26th – 28th, 2025 at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, FL.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our 2024 Advisory Committee Members, esteemed Speaker Faculty, Sponsoring Partners and of course our fantastic delegation.
