Michelle Slater is the Senior Marketing Director, Americas Region for Indeed and is responsible for both the business and consumer marketing functions in Canada, the United States, Brazil and Mexico. She has more than two decades of senior-level marketing experience and has delivered award-winning campaigns across traditional, digital and social marketing channels. Before joining Indeed, Michelle spent six years at Twitter (now known as X), leading its Canadian business marketing function. Prior to that, she worked in progressively senior marketing roles at Royal Bank of Canada, culminating with her leading the creation of the bank’s social media function and marketing strategy. Michelle also contributes to a number of marketing associations and has been actively involved with career advancement for women. She is an avid sailor, she has run seven marathons and she is an unapologetic cat person.
Brendon Bernard is a Senior Economist at Indeed.com, based in Toronto. He has been the Canadian lead of the Indeed Hiring Lab since 2018, combining publicly available data with the wealth of information internal to the Indeed hiring platform to make sense of the Canadian labour market. Brendon was previously an economist with Finance Canada, analyzing the U.S. economy, and developing Canadian financial sector policy. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the Vancouver School of Economics at University of British Columbia.
As a Talent Strategy Advisor for Indeed Canada, Alexandra (Alex) Tillo supports HR and TA leaders in large Canadian organizations, offering best practices, thought leadership and data analysis. Originally from France, but based in Toronto for over a decade, she is fluently bilingual and has a deep understanding of the Canadian hiring market. With Indeed for over 7 years, Alex has worked in various sales positions with national accounts before transitioning to Marketing last year. For most of her career, she has worked hand-in-hand with clients to address their concerns and adds her field expertise to the data she now presents. On a personal level, she loves to travel and is a white wine expert.
