The Canadian economy is navigating a complex landscape, most recently marked by high inflation, rising interest rates, and a slow recovery from the pandemic’s lingering effects.  There are growing concerns about the ongoing productivity decline while challenges such as an overheated housing market, rising debt levels, and tight labor markets remain. 

In today’s unsettled business environment, HR departments have become a key lever for survival, sustainability, and success.  Amid continued uncertainty, HR leaders across industries are keen to understand the current trends, as well as leverage one another’s insights and experiences to continue developing their human capital strategies, and position their workforces and organizations more effectively.   

Gartner surveyed more than 1,400 HR leaders across 60+ countries and all major industries to identify and assess the latest HR trends, priorities and expected challenges for 2025. Leader and manager development topped the list, with organizational culture, strategic workforce planning, change management, and HR technology following close behind.  

As the role of HR in the workplace – and the workplace itself – is reshaped, it’s clear that there are no more ‘right’ answers.  Gathering at the picturesque JW Marriott Resort in Muskoka’s beautiful cottage country, Canadian HR leaders will partake in dynamic panels, engaging Sessions, interactive Roundtables, informative Think Tanks, and unique networking events, with the intent to explore strategies, consider tactics, share stories and lessons learned in the collaborative mission to create a sustainable, agile, and future ready workforce.
