Bringing Healthcare IT Professionals Together to Share Best Practices.
Aligning Strategy, Innovation and Technology to Effectively Impact the Care Continuum
We are thrilled to welcome you to The Langham Huntington in Pasadena for the Healthcare IT Institute, IPMI’s annual meeting of senior IT executives from hospitals and health systems across the US. As patient populations continue to rise, as the players in the health care industry become increasingly more complex, and as the reimbursement environment has grown more difficult to manage, health systems are experiencing an increasing number of limitations. Staff shortages, disparate patient data, meeting patient/consumer expectations, and a rapidly changing digital environment are all challenging health systems to adapt in order to compete, or even survive.
Health IT is undergoing an evolution: from being primarily billing-oriented, to being an enabler of healthcare delivery, and as time goes on, to being a facilitator of care into the home and across geographies. Moreover, in the dynamic environment in which health systems exist, IT executives must be ready when the next unexpected event happens, whether it’s a cyberattack, an infectious-disease outbreak or even a judicial decision like the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
As a result, health system IT executives are more strategic, collaborating with the business in designing new services and capabilities to enable physicians to engage, to make patients feel comfortable, to expand the reach of the system’s services to underserved areas, and to impact the overall health of the communities it serves.
